    Ed Cohen

    Managing Partner

    Edward Cohen is an award winning American entrepreneur, business leader, author and philanthropist. Dr. Cohen currently serves as the Executive Chairman of Titan Energy (headquartered in Ft. Worth, TX); He has been head of the Atlas group of energy companies from its organization in 2000. Dr. Cohen also served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Resource America, Inc., (a publically traded specialized asset management company) from 1990 until September 2016. He was its CEO from 1998 until 2004 and President from 2000 until 2003. Dr. Cohen served as Chairman of the Board of Resource Capital Corp. (a publically traded real estate investment trust) since it formation in September 2005 until November 2009 and served on its board until September 2016. Dr. Cohen has been chairman of Brandywine Construction and Management Inc., (a property management company) since 1994.

     

    In addition, Dr. Cohen is an economic historian who is Professor of Classics and Ancient History (adjunct) at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Cohen received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania then went on to earn his doctorate from Princeton where he studied ancient Greek law and economics. He has written three books and countless articles on Athenian society and economy --- most recently Athenian Prostitution: The Business of Sex (Oxford University Press 2015).

    Betsy Cohen

    Betsy Z. Cohen is the founder of The Bancorp, where she served as the Chief Executive Officer from 1999 through 2014. She is a creator of financial businesses with over 30 years of experience in banking, real estate and financial law, as well as real estate lending, investing and development. Mrs. Cohen was the second female law professor on the east coast, teaching antitrust law and government regulation of business at Rutgers University Law School. She co-founded a Philadelphia law firm specializing in complex real estate and financial concerns.
    In 1974 Mrs. Cohen founded Jefferson Bank in Pennsylvania where she served continuously as Chairman and CEO as well as Chairman and CEO of its holding company, Jeffbanks, Inc., the largest financial institution in Pennsylvania. In 1999, she founded The Bancorp, an FDIC-insured virtual bank providing services to small and mid-size businesses and their principals in the Philadelphia-Wilmington market area through its community bank Philadelphia Private Bank, and on private-label affinity group programs for organizations and institutions, including merchant card servicing.
    Mrs. Cohen is the recipient of numerous awards, among them named in 1997 one of 50 leading female entrepreneurs of the world by the National Foundation for Women Business Owners, ranked in several years among the 25 outstanding Women Bankers and in 2009 named By US Banker as one of 25 Women to Watch.

    Mrs. Cohen is affiliated with many corporate and non-profit boards, currently serving as a Director of Aetna Inc.; Director of CardConnect; Chairman of Fintech Acquisition Corp. II; Vice Chairman, Executive Committee member and Secretary of Asia Society; Founding Member of the Asia Society Policy Institute; Trustee of The Brookings Institute; Honorary Trustee of the Metropolitan Museum of Art; and Treasurer, Managing Director, and Finance Committee member of The Metropolitan Opera.

    Mrs. Cohen is a graduate of Bryn Mawr College and received a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Pennsylvania.

    Jonathan Z. Cohen

    Chairman and CEO, Hepco

    Jonathan Z. Cohen is currently the Chairman at Seal Rock Partners and serves in managerial positions at various organizations. Jonathan was previously CEO of Resource America, Inc. He is the Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors of Atlas Energy, L.P. and has served as a Board Member for Atlas and its related companies since 2000. Jonathan is a trustee of the American School of Classical Studies in Athens and a Director of Lincoln Center Theatre.

     

    Jonathan holds a BA from the University of Pennsylvania and a JD from the American University School of Law

     

    Jeff Brotman

    Vice Chairman and COO, Hepco

    Jeffrey F. Brotman has been Chief Operating Officer of Hepco since its formation. He was Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President at Resource America, Inc. until September 2016. Jeff joined Resource America in 2007, prior to which he was the President and Chief Executive Officer of Access to Money, Inc. from March 2006 to June 15, 2007. Jeff was a co-founder, and served as Managing Member, of Ledgewood, PC (a Philadelphia based business law firm) from June 1992 to March 2006. He has been an adjunct Professor of Law at the University of Pennsylvania Law School since 1990, where he has taught courses in accounting and lending transactions. Jeff is Certified Public Accountant (currently inactive) and a licensed Real Estate Broker.

     

    Jeff has a B.S. from Lehigh University and a J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School.

     

    Corey Cannon

    Chief Financial Officer, Hepco

    Corey Cannon is Chief Financial Officer of Hepco Capital Management, LLC. Prior to joining Hepco, Corey held finance and accounting positions with PricewaterhouseCoopers, Citco Fund Services and The Bank of New York Mellon. Corey holds a BS from LaSalle University.

    Bill Fradin

    Bill Fradin is Managing Partner at Seal Rock Partners. Prior to founding Seal Rock, Bill was an investment professional at JLL Partners, a middle market private equity investment firm based out of New York.

     

    Bill holds an AB from Harvard College and an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania
